Eddie Shepherd is an award winning modern vegetarian chef, cookbook author and development chef.
At the forefront of modern vegetarian cuisine Eddie takes inspiration from nature and uses innovative techniques to create exciting, unique food that contrast the wild and natural with controlled technique, precision and a modern aesthetic.
Eddie runs the unique ‘Walled Gardens Underground Restaurant’ - A supperclub in Manchester serving a modern vegetarian tasting menu in an informal atmosphere. All the food is cooked and served by the chef alone for just 8 diners per night, making this an intimate but relaxed, unique fine dining experience.
His cookbooks have been met with acclaim from both chefs and home cooks.
Eddie has appeared at various points on TV, in and on the cover of magazines, demonstrating at various food festivals and industry shows and across a variety of publications and media.
He's done bespoke projects for clients including Google, Waitrose, Vodafone, the BBC, ITV, and many more. And consulted for various companies including Waitrose Cookery School, Special Ingredients, Kitchen Lab and Cream Supplies.
In 2009 Eddie won ‘Cordon-verts’ ‘Chef of the future’ competition with his unique cooking. And his supperclub, books & blog www.veggiechef.co.uk have become one of the go to places to see modern, elegant, creative food on the web.
Passionate and full of enthusiasm Eddie has made a prominent name for himself in the culinary world. Modern high-end vegetarian or vegan food being one of the least covered, but rich in potential, areas of contemporary gastronomy.
Eddie also does a variety of media work including writing for food magazines, performing cooking demonstrations, TV etc. And works as a development chef, coming up with new recipes and culinary ideas, doing research, testing new equipment and consulting.
